“Jiri and I fell in love with Australia; its wildlife, wildflowers and its harsh beauty, during our first strolls through the Blue Mountains, shortly after our arrival in Sydney in 1978. It wasn’t long before we started exploring and photographing further afield.
For more than 30 years now, we have been tracking Australian wildlife, searching for little known Australian plants, and travelling – climbing mountains and hiking to remote locations to capture Australia and its wild inhabitants on film.
Over the years we have built an enormous collection of images, including the works of some 30 excellent Australian photographers, who have contributed their photographs to our image bank.
Our comprehensive Australian collection covers not only wildlife and flora, but also Australian geographical and geological features; Australian cities, towns and the outback; Australia’s industries, and Australians at work, during sport, and other leisure activities.
We, and our photographers, have also travelled to other parts of the world, capturing hundreds of interesting photographs for our collection in the process.
Today, Lochman Transparencies’ images are used in a great variety of publications, in Australia and throughout the world. Jiri and I have also authored and co-authored seven books.
