About Us

In 1986, professional wildlife photographers Jiri and Marie Lochman established Lochman Transparencies, an Australian-based photographic agency and picture library.

Lochman Transparencies specialises in the supply of Nature and Geography images from around the globe. Our niche subjects are Australian wildlife – from the smallest insects to the largest mammals, wildflowers, geographical features and underwater life.

We take great pride in the quality of our images, as well as those selected from 30 hand-picked Australian and overseas photographers whom we represent.

Our images and photographic services are mainly used editorially by publishing houses in Australia and overseas. Our strong and loyal client base includes education and general book publishers, magazines, calendar and postcard publishers, as well as State and Federal Government departments, museums, galleries, independent graphic design artists and advertising agencies.

Supply of Images

Lochman Transparencies offers a fast and efficient service. We supply low or high-resolution images via email, by upload to FTP sites, and via courier or post on CD/DVD-Rom.

Accurate Information

In addition to the supply of images, Lochman Transparencies is happy to provide clients with accurate, relevant information, including scientific information about the subjects of our images at no additional cost. To facilitate this service and to guarantee as accurate caption information as possible, all subjects in our nature collection have been scientifically identified, classified and catalogued.

Our assignment photography for the article, “Where Deserts Meet”, received the prestigious Australian Geographic Society’s Award for Excellence in Photography.

We have also had published a number of books by leading Australian publishing companies such as Allen & Unwin and New Holland Publishers.
