Order Diptera; Suborder Brachycera; Family Platystomatidae (Signal Flies); Provisional scientific name: Duomyia sp. aff. decora;
Common name: Signal Fly – Riding on a Dung Beetle on the fox faeces - Distribution in Australia: Duomyia decora is known only from eastern New South Wales, eastern Victoria and Tasmania. This Duomyia sp. aff. decora seems to be almost identical and might be actually the same species, but it was photographed in the Midwest Region of Western Australia where its occurrence has not been verified. – Photographed: in August, in East Yuna Nature Reserve north-west of Mullewa.
