Common name: Bee Fly – Description: a colourful, little fly with shining, silvery-white hairs covering frons; thorax covered mostly with dark brown appressed hairs with four darker, longitudinal stripes; collar of erect brown and white hairs; scutellum mostly dark brown; abdomen with light brown and white bands and two prominent, round black spots in the middle of the second and third abdominal segments that make it rather distinct from all other species of Villa; plus six small, black, dorso-lateral patches interrupting white bands; wings hyaline - Distribution in Australia: Western Australia – Photographed: in August, in Karara Rangelands Reserve in Midwest Region east of Morawa.
