Family Centropomidae – Giant Perches; Scientific name: Lates calcarifer; Common name: Barramundi - Distribution in Australia: large coastal drainages of northern Australia between Shark Bay in Western Australia, through the Northern Territory to Mary River system in south-eastern Queensland – Also: widely distributed in coastal rivers of East Africa and Asian to southern Japan.
