Common name: Bee Fly – Feeding on Blue Lace Flower Trachymene caerulea - Description: Thorax dark brown with five darker, longitudinal lines and some scattered, short hairs, white hairs on the rim of the thorax; collar mostly white with some rust coloured hairs dorsally; facial hairs between eyes dark brown interspersed with some lighter hairs; abdomen with two prominent, broad, white bends rimmed frontally with narrower, black bends, second terminal segment light brown, terminal segment white; wings clear, only the veins of costal cells brown - Distribution in Australia: Western Australia – Photographed: in January, in Yalgorup National Park south of Mandurah.
