Order Rodentia; Family Muridae; Scientific name: Rattus leucopus; Common name: Cape York Rat – Distribution in Australia: confined to north-eastern Queensland between the northern tip of Cape York Peninsula in the north and Cardwell in the south – Also found in Southern New Guinea.
