Red Kangaroo

Order Diprotodontia; Family Macropodidae (Kangaroos and Wallabies); Scientific name: Osphranter rufus; Former scientific name: Macropus rufus; Common name: Red Kangaroo - Distribution in Australia:  widespread in arid and semi-arid regions of all mainland states; absent in the wet tropics, east of Great Dividing Range, in the South-west of Western Australia and most of Victoria except the extreme north-west.
