Common name: Red Tailed Black Cockatoo – Two males extracting seeds from Gungurru Tree Eucalyptus caesia nut - Distribution in Australia: present in discontinuous populations through all mainland states, generally absent in western deserts, along Nullarbor Plain and in south-eastern New South Wales, eastern Victoria and through most of South Australia.
