Stubble Quail

Order Galliformes; Family Phasianidae (Pheasants, Partridges and Old World Quails); Scientific name: Coturnix pectoralis; Common name: Stubble Quail – Distribution in Australia: in Western Australia between Exmouth Peninsula in the north and Esperance in the south-east, in eastern states from about Townsville in north-eastern Queensland throughout New South Wales and Victoria to about Ceduna in south-eastern South Australia; in good years nomadic birds visit more arid areas of central Australia.
