Common name: Wandering Whistling Duck – Flock resting - Distribution in Australia: tropical areas between Kimberley Region of Western Australia through the Top End of the Northern Territory to north-eastern Queensland - Distribution outside Australia: apart from its northern Australian distribution subspecies arcuata is also found in southern New Guinea; two other subspecies occur further afield through Indonesia to the Philippines.
