Spotted Crake

Order Gruiformes; Family Rallidae (Rails, Coots & allies); Scientific name: Porzana fluminea; Common name: Australian Spotted Crake – Distribution in Australia: Australian endemic bird found throughout Tasmania and present in all mainland states except the Northern Territory; in Western Australia it is found in the broader southwest north to Geraldton and east to Fitzgerald River NP; on the eastern seaboard it ranges from north of the Tropic of Capricorn in eastern Queensland through New South Wales and Victoria, west to Streaky Bay in South Australia.
