Common name: Forest Kingfisher - Distribution in Australia: northern and eastern Australia from Kimberley Region in Western Australia through the Top End of the Northern Territory, though northern and eastern Queensland to about Port Stephens in eastern New South Wales - Distribution outside Australia: southern and eastern New Guinea, adjacent islands to south-eastern Moluccas.
