Common name: Shining Bronze Cuckoo; Alternative common name: Golden Bronze Cuckoo – Distribution in Australia: Subspecies lucidus is found in southern and western Western Australian north to about Onslow; in eastern states from Cape York Peninsula in the north-eastern Queensland though eastern New South Wales, through Victoria to York Peninsula in southern-central South Australia and throughout Tasmania - Distribution outside Australia: Subspecies lucidus also occurs throughout New Zealand; other subspecies are found in New Guinea and adjacent islands and throughout eastern Indonesia.
