Emerald Dove

Order Columbiformes; Family Columbidae (Pigeons & Doves) - Scientific name: Chalcophaps indica; Common name: Emerald Dove – Distribution in Australia: from Kimberley Region of Western Australia through the Top End of the Northern Territory, then from the tip of Cape York Peninsula in north-eastern Queensland south to south-eastern New South Wales; mainly lowland and in some areas highland forests within about 200 km from the coast – Distribution outside Australia: New Guinea, Indonesia, South-east Asia and India.
