Order Ciconiiformes; Family Threskiornithidae (Ibises & Spoonbills); Scientific name: Platalea flavipes; Common name: Yellow-billed Spoonbill – Pair at nest - Distribution in Australia: Australian endemic bird present in all mainland states and territories; absent in western deserts, although, being highly nomadic, it can unexpectedly appear even there in times of floods.
