Family Melanotaeniidae – Rainbowfishes; Scientific name: Melanotaenia trifasciata; Common name: Banded Rainbowfish, or Banded  Rainbow Fish – Distribution in Australia: a tropical freshwater fish from the northern Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory and northern half of the Cape York Peninsula in northern Queensland.
