Family Eleotridae – Gudgeons; Scientific name: Bostrichthys zonatus; Common name: Barred Gudgeon – Distribution in Australia: an ucommon tropical fish inhabiting brackish estuaries and adjacent lower reaches of freshwater streams in the Northern Territory between Darwin area in the west and Doomadge in the Gulf of Carpentaria in the east – Also: occurring in southern New Guinea.
