Climbing Galaxias

Family Galaxiidae – Galaxias; Scientific name: Galaxias brevipinnis; Common name: Climbing Galaxias – Distribution in Australia: patchily distributed in streams draining east and south of the Great Dividing Range between Hunter River in north-eastern New South Wales and Kangaroo Island in South Australia, widespread in Tasmania and on Bass Strait islands – Also found in New Zealand and its offshore islands.
