Family Pristidae – Sawfishes; Scientific name: Pristis microdon; Common name: Freshwater Sawfish – Distribution in Australia: tropical species inhabiting rivers and estuaries between Kimberley Region of Western Australia through the northernmost Top End of the Northern Territory to Cape York Peninsula in Queensland – Also in tropical and subtropical coastal areas and rivers around the world plus some freshwater lakes in New Guinea and South America.
