Family Eleotridae – Gudgeons; Scientific name: Oxyeleotris selheimi; Common name: Giant Gudgeon – Distribution in Australia: a tropical freshwater fish widely distributed in northern Australia between Adcock River in western Kimberley in Western Australia through the Top End of the Northern Territory to about Cooktown in north-eastern Queensland – Also: widely distributed in major rivers of southern New Guinea.
