Family Osteoglossidae – Bony Tongues; Scientific name: Scleropages jardinii; Common name: Gulf Saratoga – Distribution in Australia: a tropical freshwater fish confined mainly to rivers draining into Gulf of Carpentaria between Melville Island in Darwin area in the Northern Territory east to tip of Cape York Peninsula in the northern Queensland – Also in southern New Guinea.
