Family Gadopsidae – Freshwater Blackfishes; Scientific name: Gadopsis marmoratus; Common name: River Blackfish – Distribution in Australia: widely distributed in streams draining both east and west of the Great Dividing Range from south-eastern Queensland through New South Wales and Victoria to near Adelaide in south-eastern South Australia, and in northern Tasmania; introduced to other parts of Tasmania.
