Family Eleotridae – Gudgeons; Scientific name: Ophiocara porocephala; Common name: Spangled Gudgeon – Distribution in Australia: a tropical fish inhabiting brackish waters of estuaries and adjacent, freshwater parts of rivers between Kimbolton Spring in Kimberley Region of Western Australia through the Top End of the Northern Territory to Maryborough in south-eastern Queensland – Also: widely distributed in Indo-west Pacific from East Africa to Caroline Islands.
