Description
Order Diptera; Suborder Brachycera; Family Bombyliidae (Bee Flies); Subfamily: Anthracinae; Provisional scientific name: Villa sp. (WA – Zuytdorp NP -2); Common name: Bee Fly – Male – Description: Thorax dark brown, unpatterned with adpressed white indumentum, that is more or less erect laterally; abdomen with alternate white, dark brown and lighter brown transverse stripes made of adpressed indumentum in the male; there is a prominent silver facial patch between eyes; collar beige; wings clear - Distribution in Australia: Western Australia – Photographed: in October, in Zuytdorp National Park in Gascoyne Region.
