Description
Order Diptera; Suborder Brachycera; Family Bombyliidae (Bee Flies); Subfamily: Anthracinae; Provisional scientific name: Villa sp. (WA – De La Poer Range NR); Common name: Bee Fly – Description: A brown fly with unpatterned thorax that is partly obscured by adpressed, white indumentum, laterally with white erect hairs extending onto the basal coastal cell of the wing; frontal half of the abdomen with two broad, dark brown stripes with narrower white stripes in between; two terminal tergites white; collar white; facial hairs between eyes predominantly brown extending upwards to the ocelli; wings clear - Distribution in Australia: Western Australia – Photographed: in September, in Karara Rangelands Reserve in Midwest Region.
