Common name: Flower-loving Fly – Feeding on Melaleuca flowers - Distribution in Australia: Western Australian endemic fly – Photographed: in December in the Midwest Region – Note: until 2011 when these photographs were taken this spectacular species was considered likely extinct, as it has not been collected, or observed by any dipteriologist since the 1950s.
