Order Diptera; Suborder Brachycera; Family Apioceridae (Flower-loving Flies); Scientific name: Apiocera sp. aff. evansi; Note: This Apiocera sp. aff. evansi seems to be almost identical and may indeed prove to be Apiocera evansi, but the thorax coloration is considerably lighter than in the scientific description of the species;
Common name: Flower-loving Fly – Distribution in Australia: Western Australia – Photographed: in October in Karara Rangeland Reserve east of Morawa.
