Common name: Black Fruit Bat; Alternative common names Black Flying-fox or Black Flying Fox – Distribution in Australia: Found from south of Carnarvon in Western Australia through the Pilbara & Kimberley Regions of Western Australia through the Top End of the Northern Territory through north-western Queensland to northern and eastern Queensland and to north-eastern New South Wales including many offshore islands including Fraser Island and some Torres Strait Islands – Also in coastal plains of southern Papua New Guinea – Photographed in April in Muswellbrook in north-eastern NSW.
