Order Chiroptera; Family Vespertilionidae; Scientific name: Nyctophilus geoffroyi; Common name: Lesser Long Eared Bat; Alternative common name: Lesser Long Ear Bat – Distribution in Australia: Found throughout mainland Australia with an exception of north- eastern Queensland from the top of Cape York Peninsula south to about Maryborough; also throughout Tasmania and King and Kangaroo Islands.
