Order Diprotodontia; Family Potoroidae; Scientific name: Bettongia gaimardi; Common name: Tasmanian Bettong - Distribution in Australia: restricted to eastern half of Tasmania; until beginning of the twenties century it also occurred between South-eastern South Australia and South-eastern Queensland, but is now extinct on the mainland.
