Swamp Rat

Order Rodentia; Family Muridae; Scientific name: Rattus lutreolus; Common name: Swamp Rat – Distribution in Australia: found on eastern slopes of and east of Great Dividing Range between Gordonvale  in the noth-eastern Queensland southwards through eastern New South Wales, southern Victoria to about Gawler in southern South Australia, and throughout Tasmania plus on adjacent offshore islands of all these states including the Fraser, Kangaroo, Flinders and King Islands.
